Your local newspaper probably has a website. I highly doubt they will have free ads but they generally are pretty cheap.
Call your local newspaper and inquire about it. My local paper hosts free classifieds ads for any item under $200.
carla please be specific with the area you live in; there are certain areas where free ads papers are published. find one in your area.
Ya... post on craigslist.org, ebay.com, kijiji.com ...
Search Free Classified Sites - on Google.com you would get a list of sites which accept classifieds...
