Definitely NOT craigslist for NZ. It is seriously not used by more than a couple of Americans who then go to Trademe! You only need to check Wellington's listing in the 'New Zealand' part of Trademe and realise that most of the information is mistakenly from Florida or somewhere!.
Trademe is very popular for second hand/used items, cars, property, flatmates and as a bulletin board. Trade and Exchange is trying to improve its act and attempting to compete. But Trademe is the king at the moment.
www.ferrit.co.nz is popular for shopping. It is not actually a shopping site so much as it directs you to places where you can shop. But it is very popular.
