why not cut out the middle man and take your pet straight to a shelter, it has a high chance of ending up there anyway.

Try www.craigslist.com. Do not, however offer them for sale, as you'll get flagged there, too. Just say that a re-homing fee applies.
craigslist is good, try also kijiji, they're great too.
